Here at Rats Cats & Elephants we import 99% of our fish direct from fish farms all over the world, some of these we have visited ourselves and have built close relationships with the owners. Our major supplier in Singapore is in contact each week and unlike most stores we give our orders direct to the farm, this ensures that we are at the top of the list when the farms are picking fish to send giving us more choice and quality.
We also have the same type of contacts in Isreal with a guppy farm and an angel fish farm as well as others, we have found these farms produce the best fish and are really strong. We also import most of our livebearers from Isreal, these fish have proved to be the best time and time again.
We always quarantine our fish in our store, normally for one week sometimes longer, we always give the fish the best care we can. Over the years we have come to find where to source the best fish from so that you the customer get the best available, sometimes fish here may have a sign on the tank saying not for sale this will be for a reason, some times they may have just come out of quarantine or they may not be looking their best and we want to rest them longer, again this is so the customer gets the best we can provide. We also know when not to buy certain fish like cardinal tetra and L numbers this is because all these fish are wild caught and the time of the year tells us when to buy or when not to.
We also import all of our plants direct from Singapore and have new plants weekly.
We want our customers to get the best and this is why we go further than others to achieve the best we can.
