At the beginning of February our team visited Israel to look at three koi farms, the trip was exciting and informative, the work that the farms are doing is pioneering, all koi that have reached 4 inches are injected by hand against koi herpes virus. The procedure is that, the farm harvest each mud pond of fish inject each fish place them into a holding pond and when the mud pond is free of fish they drain it refill and put all the koi back to grow on. Having watched this process we feel that the koi from Israel are the strongest fish that we can buy. We visited three farms over four days and selected the farm Megan Michael for its size and selection of fish. We received all of our fish back in Great Britain two weeks after selection where we quarantined them in heated ponds for one month before lowering the temperature and offering them for sale.
